HR&A has supported the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) since 2017 to drive investment and strategic partnerships across Los Angeles County toward its ambitious goal of creating 600,000 green jobs by 2050. Our comprehensive work has included conducting foundational research to quantify the region’s green economy, providing strategic support for transportation electrification initiatives that informed federal infrastructure investments, and facilitating regional workforce development partnerships to ensure Los Angeles has the skilled labor force necessary to capitalize on historic cleantech investments and achieve its decarbonization objectives.

Through comprehensive data collection and analysis, HR&A assessed the effectiveness of the Foundation’s priority grants, investigated the sustainability of supported organizations, and identified critical revitalization levers that could be applied to any city. This evaluation provided Knight Foundation with essential insights to guide future investment decisions and promote equitable economic development.

Projects

HR&A worked with the City of Dallas and stakeholders to craft an Economic Development Policy and Incentives Policy to proactively address disparities in economic opportunity through policy, public investment, and partnership. As advisors, analysts, subject matter experts, and external capacity, HR&A helped ensure that the implementation of the policy would provide measurable impacts and improvements to businesses and communities across Dallas.
