Client

City of Raleigh

Overview

HR&A is positioning Raleigh’s Historic Resources and Museum Program for its next decade of growth through a strategic plan that will maximize operational efficiency, diversify programming, and strengthen the organization’s role in the city’s cultural ecosystem. Our community-informed approach will inform HRM’s capital and operating priorities within the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources framework.

Project

Founded in 2012, HRM has grown to manage multiple properties and programs but needed strategic direction to maximize impact and define its future role in Raleigh’s heritage landscape. HR&A is providing comprehensive guidance spanning operational improvements, program development, and administrative capacity enhancement. Our approach includes robust public engagement reaching diverse Raleigh residents through surveys and community ideation events that also pilot new programming concepts.

The final strategic plan will unify HRM’s portfolio under a cohesive vision while providing a critical path for maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. HR&A’s recommendations will establish a five to ten year action plan addressing both immediate operational needs and longer-term strategic positioning. This planning effort will directly inform HRM’s budget needs within the broader Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources process, ensuring the organization has resources and direction to serve as a vital component of Raleigh’s cultural landscape.
